architectureinteriorretail
A selection of projects across architecture, interior, and retail.
A courtyard residence in south Delhi, organised around light and cross-ventilation.
A textile flagship where the display fixtures fold away to leave only the fabric.
A full interior fit-out for a family of four, built around one long shared table.
A small public reading room, extended from an existing community hall.
A café interior built almost entirely from reclaimed local teak and laterite.
We design with restraint, so what stays is what matters. Every project follows the same five stages.
We start with how the space will actually be used, not with a style to apply to it.
One clear idea, tested against site, budget, and the client's brief before anything is drawn.
Plans, materials, and light are developed together, not layered on top of each other.
Every junction and finish is drawn before it is built, so nothing is improvised on site.
We stay on site through construction and handover, not just through the drawings.
Good design disappears into how well a space works.
Who we are and how we work.
mal:cha is a small architecture and interior studio based in New Delhi, working across residential, retail, and institutional projects. We take on a limited number of projects a year so that each one gets full attention from concept through construction.
Our work draws on local material and craft rather than imported reference — most projects use materials and builders from within the region they're built in.
